YMCA of Natrona County to host Healthy Kids Day this Saturday

Casper, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – David Street Station is preparing for another busy Saturday in downtown Casper as the YMCA of Natrona County is gearing up to host their annual Healthy Kids Day.

The three hour event will feature many activities for children of all ages including face painting, an obstacle course, fitness classes, and more. The YMCA hopes this event will bring joy to kids and their families after a year of virtual activities and social distancing has kept most indoors.

“As adults, we know that 2020 was difficult on so many levels—it’s important to remind ourselves that as much as we try to protect our kids from worry, they faced many of those same difficulties,” said Risa Phillips, the senior membership director.

The main focus of the event is to celebrate what makes a kid, a healthy kid. The overall goal of the event is to get families involved and keep these healthy habits at home.

“We’re really hoping to make this a fun day for the entire family so that the whole family can participate together and then also have takeaways where they can continue doing things outside of Healthy Kids Day,” said Phillips.

Healthy Kids Day will take place on Saturday, June 19th from noon to three.
