From the boss at Scarlet magazine to the three main characters and the people in their lives, it’s fun to see who the zodiac signs can relate to the most.
12 Aries: Patrick Duchand
Everyone at Scarlet is concerned when Patrick starts running the digital side of the publication, and Aries signs will recognize their personality traits in this character.
Patrick is confident, sure of his ideas, and convinced that he can make the website the best it can be. He isn’t a very patient person and his personality clashes with a lot of the other employees. He likes to be busy and while he and Jane seem to have crushes on each other, it’s clear that they will never really work as they’re too different.
11 Taurus: Oliver Grayson
Oliver runs the fashion department at Scarlet and does an incredible job. He’s also likely to be a Taurus sign thanks to his stubborn nature.
It’s amazing that Sutton talks to him about working as a stylist and he agrees, as he doesn’t like other people to make decisions for him, and it takes a lot for him to admit how he feels. Oliver’s stubbornness is most on display when dealing with his ex, Jasper, as he doesn’t want to warm up to him at first, but then realizes that Jasper is trying his best.
10 Gemini: Ryan Decker
Ryan and Jane are a fan-favorite couple and it’s really sad when he cheats on her and she realizes that she can’t trust him anymore. It’s especially tough to watch them split up as Jane wasn’t sure that he was right for her at first but they eventually developed a truly healthy and happy relationship.
Gemini signs can see themselves in Ryan’s character, as he’s an intelligent writer who likes talking to people and learning. The twins sign wants to know more about the world and they also tend to be artistic, which describes Ryan perfectly.
9 Cancer: Richard Hunter
Richard cares deeply about Sutton and it’s tragic to watch their marriage on shaky ground at the end of season 4.
Richard and Sutton live apart after getting hitched as he knows that her fashion styling job is super important to her and he doesn’t want to take that way from her. Richard seems like he would be a Cancer sign, as he’s all about family, friends, and being loyal. He proves that when he invites some old pals over to introduce them to Sutton, and it’s clear that he’s been planning his future for a while.
8 Leo: Kat Edison
Leos will relate to Kat, who is a political activist and has no problem being the center of attention. She is super comfortable with public speaking and when she runs for city council, she enjoys talking to people and finding out what their biggest problems are.
The lion sign is known for being confident and loving who they are, and fans love Kat because she is secure and proud of herself and her accomplishments.

Jane is known for doing careful research when writing her stories and she’s definitely relatable to Virgo signs.
Virgos are clean, smart, and they love reading and working hard. They can have trouble leaning on other people and getting help, which is true of Jane, and when she gets her preventative surgery because she has the BRCA gene, she realizes that it’s okay for her friends to help her out. Libra signs can likely relate to Adena, who embodies all of the traits of this zodiac sign.
She fights for justice and what’s right all the time, and she doesn’t like when people in power have it made while others struggle. Adena and Kat have a beautiful love story and they have a lot in common, although Adena has had hardships that Kat can’t even begin to understand. Viewers are curious if these two will start dating again when the show returns for its final season.
5 Scorpio: Sutton Brady
Scorpio signs will see themselves in Sutton and her journey to become a fashion stylist at Scarlet.
She has a true passion for the field and while she’s got a ton of strength and an independent nature, she is also an emotional person. She carries around a lot of pain, as she grew up with an alcoholic mother and the two don’t have a relationship now, and Sutton worries about having enough money to support herself. She also struggles to adjust to being with Richard, who has a much more comfortable lifestyle than she does.

Sagittarius signs are free spirits who enjoy travel and doing what they love. This zodiac sign likely loved watching beauty influencer Alice on The Bold Type.
Sutton styles Alice for an important shoot, which is great since it helps her get her foot in that world, but Alice isn’t that impressed as she realizes that Sutton isn’t actually a freelance working stylist at this point in time. Thanks to the nature of her career, Alice embodies the Sagittarius traits of wanting to learn about the world and not wanting to live by a strict calendar.

1 Pisces: Scott Coleman
Romance is often in the air on The Bold Type and when Jane is given her own vertical at Scarlet, she begins hiring some writers. She likes Scott right away, realizing that she’s attracted to him but wanting to keep things professional.
Scott seems like he would be a Pisces as he’s in touch with his feelings and he seems to wear his heart on his sleeve. Pisces signs can relate to him as he confesses that he likes Jane. At first, the two characters clash as she lets him know that his first piece feels too clinical and she wants him to do a better job. He’s sensitive and takes this very personally.
