There’s not too many kids that get the chance to live on island and star on a reality TV show while their superstar parents build an entire resort in six months. Yet despite their untraditional lifestyle, the Baeumler kids from HGTV’s Renovation Island are literally just like every other kid.

On Sunday’s new episode of Renovation Island, we see this as Charlotte, Lincoln, and Josephine prep smoothies for Sarah and Bryan to try. Sarah explains that the resort will have a cafe named Switcha, which will source all local ingredients from the island.

Using fresh fruit from the island’s trees, the kids took it upon themselves to try whipping up their own smoothies in the temp kitchen. Bananas, blueberries, strawberries, orange juice, chocolate chips and more are seen in the kids’ workspace as they whip up their own unique concoctions.

But like any kids unsupervised in a kitchen, things can get a little out of hand. “Mummy loves chocolate, and I love chocolate,” Lincoln says about his rather brownish blend. Throughout the clip he’s seen pouring a bag of chocolate chips into his mouth.

Charlotte suggests that they let their parents taste their smoothies, to which Josephine, donning a pink smoothie mustache, adorably responds “Uh, I drank mommy’s.” However, soon enough, the kids manage to pour out some glasses and parade into their parents’ office for a taste test.

“Chef Lincoln, what is in your smoothie?” Bryan asks his son. “A bag and a half of chocolate,” he replies, as his parents try to hold back their squirming.

Charlotte, the eldest of the three, seems the most dedicated to nailing down a recipe to Switcha. She calls her blend “the healthy one,” as it’s composed from fruit and yogurt. Despite her diligent efforts, Sarah and Bryan seem a little off put. Sarah notes the texture is not quite right and the drink is “congealing.”

Josephine presents Sarah and Bryan with half-drank glasses, still unable to stop drinking hers. She calls her drink “Candyland,” although it is uncertain if any candy was actually put in. Sarah and Bryan seem impressed with the blend, but joke that if she wants to help at Switcha she can’t drink the smoothies in the process.

“I think the funniest thing about these smoothies is that each of them reflects the children who created them,” Sarah says.

While it’s unknown if any of the children’s blends did make the final cut, Switcha currently does offer five smoothies on its menu at the currently open Caerula Mar Club resort in the Bahamas. While the ingredients go beyond the ingredients the kids were using, I think it’s safe to say that their experiment helped build the tropical blends we see today. Either way, the moment was too adorable and probably very relatable for parents who have little ones running around.

You can catch new episodes of Renovation Island every Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV.
