The effects of the pandemic on people living with dementia

Dr. Katya Numbers from the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic has posed unique risks to people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Dr. Numbers’ research has revealed people living with dementia have a relatively high risk of contracting severe COVID-19 and are also at risk of neuropsychiatric disturbances as a result of lockdown measures and social isolation.
