Panthers’ Ryan Lomberg: Designated for waivers
Ryan Lomberg was placed on waivers by the Florida Panthers on Friday, Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston reports.Considering Lomberg has served as a healthy scratch in the last three games for Florida, the club’s desire to move him to the taxi squad or the minors shouldn’t come as a surprise. Assuming he clears, the team will have the option to move the winger between levels freely which could clear the way for Owen Tippet to join the active roster.

Panthers’ Ryan Lomberg: Signs in Florida
Ryan Lomberg (undisclosed) signed a two-year, one-way contract with the Florida Panthers on Friday.Lomberg has played 11 NHL games during his career, posting an assist and 32 PIM. He roughs it up in the minors as well, but he produced offensively last year, as he stacked up 11 goals and nine helpers over 21 games with AHL Stockton. While his one-way deal likely makes him hard to move to the minors, the winger is far from a lock for the 23-man roster.

Ryan Lomberg (undisclosed) has not been included on the Calgary Flames’ initial training camp roster.Lomberg was expected to take part in Phase 3 training camp, but it seems his injury will keep him sidelined, at least to start. Flames’ Ryan Lomberg: Re-signs with Calgary
Ryan Lomberg signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.Lomberg filed for salary arbitration earlier this month, but he and the Flames were able to come to terms on a deal both sides deemed fair prior to his hearing. The 24-year-old forward spent the majority of the 2018-19 campaign in the minors, notching 12 goals and 29 points in 58 games. The University of Maine product will likely once again stick with AHL Stockton for most of the 2019-20 season, so there’s no reason for fantasy owners to keep tabs on him.

Flames’ Ryan Lomberg: Bussed back to minors
Ryan Lomberg was reassigned to AHL Stockton on Saturday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.Lomberg descending to the minors shouldn’t be viewed as an outright demotion so much as it is him paving the way for a much more established winger in Michael Frolik to return from a lower-body injury. Lomberg has one assist and 32 PIM through career 11 games at the top level.

Flames’ Ryan Lomberg: Jumps to top level
Ryan Lomberg was called up from AHL Stockton on Thursday.Don’t let Lomberg’s small stature (5-foot-9, 187 pounds) fool you — this kid is feisty and he’s no stranger to the sin bin, having amassed 291 PIM over 159 games at the AHL level. The Calgary Flames have also recalled Buddy Robinson in the wake of injuries to Sam Bennett (upper body) and James Neal (lower body), so Lomberg’s no lock to draw in against the Lightning on Thursday.
