Police release video of suspect in fatal Mt. Healthy shooting
MT. HEALTHY, Ohio (WXIX) – Mt. Healthy police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Cincinnati man.
Chief Vincent Demasi says officers were called to a parking lot in the 7800 block of Clovernook Avenue around 10 p.m. Monday for a report of a man down.
They found a man who was suffering from gunshot wounds lying in the lot.
Chief Demasi says Aaron Chambers, 31, was pronounced dead at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The preliminary investigation by Mt. Healthy police indicates Chambers drove to the parking lot and remained in his vehicle.
Chambers got out of his vehicle when the suspect approached, the suspect shot him and ran from the scene.
The suspect is described as 25 to 30 years old, 5′7″- 6′0″, with a pronounced limp, and he was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and black gym shoes.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, which has been asked to assist with the investigation, has released video of the suspect and his vehicle (see above).
FOX19 NOW spoke with the mother of Chambers’ children Tuesday night.
“He kept to himself,” said the woman, who wished to remain anonymous. “But when he really loved and cared for you, he showed it like he showed for me and his two sons and his family.”
The woman says whoever killed Chambers took away a person regarded by family, friends and his own children as a special man.
“He was a stand-up pwerson. His intentions were always pure. He just wanted it back,” she said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office at 513-851-6000 or Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
