A week after scoring a go-ahead fourth quarter touchdown, Rhamondre Stevenson is a healthy scratch.
The rookie will be inactive against the Jets, along with linebacker Dont’a Hightower. That means the Patriots will see a lot of J.J. Taylor, who hasn’t been active since the Buccaneers game. Hightower has been nursing a pair of injuries (ankle/elbow) and didn’t participate in Friday’s practice.
New England’s other inactives are Devin Asiasi (healthy scratch), Ronnie Perkins (healthy scratch), Shaun Wade (concussion) and Yasir Durant (healthy scratch).
That means Shaq Mason will be suited up for the first time since the Tampa Bay game and the Patriots will have 4/5 of their offensive line back. One guess at the starting five:
LT: Isaiah Wynn
LG: Ted Karras
C: David Andrews
RG: Shaq Mason
RT: Mike Onwenu
On the New York side, standout linebacker C.J. Mosley will be sidelined too. He was listed as doubtful, but Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the decision would go “down to the wire.”
