Outpatient addiction treatment center opens on Park Ave. in Mansfield
MANSFIELD – A facility designed to help patients overcome addiction and return to living healthy and fulfilling lives opened this week in Mansfield.
BrightView opened the outpatient addiction treatment center at 580 Park Ave. on Feb. 22, according to Carole Shifman, the company’s media contact. She said the new center will provide accessible and comprehensive addiction treatment.
Various programs offered
Programs will include medication-assisted treatment, clinical care, group therapy, peer support and social services to address the full range of symptoms associated with substance use disorder.
The company accepts Medicaid, Medicare and most insurances, according to Miki Zeigler, the community outreach manager for the new BrightView facility in Mansfield.
“Each patient receives a personalized plan”
“Our center will treat everyone who needs help with addiction and substance use disorder,” Zeigler said. “Each patient receives a personalized plan they help form that may include medication-assisted treatment, individual and group counseling, peer recovery support and wrap-around social services. We’re following COVID-19 precautions and using telehealth to make effective treatment available to as many people in Mansfield as possible.”
Data released by Shifman indicates that Richland County is one of the most severely impacted Ohio counties with 52 fatal overdoses per 100,000 people. In comparison, she said, the statewide average is 31.

Over 700 area residents can be served each year
The company’s new Mansfield addiction treatment center can serve over 700 area residents annually and create more than 20 full-time jobs, according to Dr. Shawn Ryan, co-founder and chief medical officer of BrightView.
“We’re pleased to work with the Mansfield community to save lives and bring hope to the region by treating addiction compassionately and effectively using evidence-based techniques,” Ryan said. “We know from experience that improving lives one patient at a time creates positive trends across the community. Building partnerships with Richland County medical providers and justice system professionals will also play an important role in helping patients achieve long-term recovery.”
How to seek help at BrightView
Those seeking help can call BrightView at 833-510-HELP (4357) 24-hours per day, seven days per week, or schedule an appointment online at brightviewhealth.com.
“They can schedule a time to tour the site itself,” Zeigler said.
For new patients, treatment often begins the same or the next day, and walk-ins are welcome until 3 p.m. on weekdays.
Fewer than four hours after they walk through the door, a patient suffering from withdrawal will receive stabilizing medication, complete their first counseling session and begin lasting recovery with BrightView.
As to when someone decides to seek help? There is no set answer.
“Everyone is different,” Zeigler said. “When someone reaches a point where they know they’re ready, they’re ready and they will take those next steps to call and schedule their appointment.”
The company believes that BrightView patients decrease time spent in jail by nearly 70% during their first 90 days in the outpatient program. Patients also report a 33% reduction in emergency room visits in the first three months and a 50% reduction after one year.
