Ohio State football knows what time it is
Thayer Munford is one of the best players on the Ohio State football offensive line and his return to Ohio State this season was a huge lift for the reigning Big Ten champions.
He also has food opinions. And his food preferences apparently are in line with his coach, Greg Studrawa.
Munford, who is from Cincinnati but played his senior year of high school in Massillon, could have gone to the NFL after his senior season but decided to take an extra year granted by the NCAA’s COVID-19 rules.
He told the Columbus Dispatch that his desire to graduate led him to return to campus in 2021.
The senior leader on the line was mic’d up for a recent spring practice and a video was shared on the Buckeyes’ Twitter handle.
To recap: Munford is a fan of lemon – like anything lemon — but don’t cook him asparagus and stay away from squash. Also, he seems to like ribs and brisket (who doesn’t?).
And for the love of Tom Colicchio, get him and his coach some 3-ways for dinner.
Cincinnati chili lovers, you’ll want to fast forward to the 2:45 minute mark when dinner plans are being arranged among the offensive line.
Munford is heard suggesting Skyline Chili in the clip followed by a, “Skyline Chili sounds good tonight,” from another person in the video.
To that suggestion, Studrawa drops a line that many a Cincinnatian has said: “I would eat it every day of the week if I could.”

Now, that’s not quite advisable for healthy eating habits as one regular 3-Way Skyline Chili order has 800 calories, but when you’re 6-foot-6, 321 pounds like Munford is and are currently a football player burning calories during spring football, having a 3-Way everyday just may be OK.
(We’re joking, it’s still probably not great to eat a 3-Way every day for your health)
