NFL World Reacts To Philip Rivers, Potential Comeback News

Earlier Tuesday night, retired NFL quarterback Philip Rivers sparked an interesting conversation thanks to his latest comments about a potential comeback.

In a recent conversation with the Los Angeles Times, Rivers, who now coaches high school football in Alabama, said he has not “completely ruled out” a return to the league.

“I’m not predicting I will play in December or January, for that matter,” he said. “One, you’ve got to have somebody who wants you, and two, it’s got to be right. But I have not completely ruled that out.”

Of course, his comments quickly made the rounds on social media and fans aren’t sure how to feel about it. On the one hand, Rivers is healthy – something the Indianapolis Colts could use.

NFL analyst Warren Sharp made that point – several times – on Tuesday night.

On the other hand, fan’s aren’t sure Rivers would be able to come off the street and start right away for the Colts. That is, if they even asked.

There are other fans out there who just want to see the gunslinger make his way back to the field after a few months off.

The eight-time Pro Bowler led the Colts to an 11-5 record during the 2020 season and helped the team to the playoffs. He and the Colts nearly knocked off the Buffalo Bills in an exciting 27-24 showdown.

He racked up 4,169 passing yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 68% completion.
