Louisville is getting not one, but three new restaurants for health food connoisseurs due to a new healthy food concept chain.The concept is called Clean Eatz.Matt Hall and Candace Gilbert, owners and operators of the franchise, locally, are finalizing negotiations for the first of the three stores, which is to be located off Springhurst Boulevard. Hall said they should have the first location confirmed by Aug. 31, according to Louisville Business First.Clean Eatz is more than just a restaurant. Hall said the franchise will house a café, where customers can come and order meals, but they also will offer weekly meal plans featuring already-prepared meals that can be microwaved at home.Customers can order the meals online and come to the store to pick up.”It’s a healthy eating concept,” Hall said. “We have customizable meal plans, grab-and-go options, a café, and marketplace with protein powders, etc.”Gilbert said all the food is prepared in-house. All their dressings and spices are sodium-free, and they don’t use any added sugars or corn syrups in their recipes.According to its website, the franchise follows a “no salt in the kitchen” rule, and they try to create healthy options by using fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats and proteins.Hall is a certified personal trainer, nutritionist and bodybuilder. Gilbert said Hall’s newfound passion for fitness is what drove them to bring a healthy eating business to Louisville.So far, the company has one location in Kentucky, in Newport, and there are 63 across the U.S. There is no word yet on where the franchise’s other two planned locations will be located.
