Although I consider myself a huge beauty enthusiast, I’m not a big fan of wearing anything on my lips. And as someone who is constantly on the go, the last thing I want/need to worry about is having to re-apply my lipstick or making sure it’s not bleeding across my face. They say to err is human, but because of this everyday makeup choice, I’ve made the bad habit of not taking better care of my lips.

While the peak time of my eczema flare-ups typically happens during the winter, the unsightly woe of having cracked and scaly lips follows me even throughout the year — it’s so obvious in the summer. Of course, an obvious solution is a good nourishing lip balm but due to the severity of dryness and sensitivity of my lips, certain formulas get my lips super itchy. So rather than opting for just any lip balm or ointment from the drugstore, for an instant boost of hydration and TLC, The Original 101 Ointment has been my go-to.
SHOP IT: Sephora, $17 (originally $23)
Created by Australian cult-status brand, Lanolips, this multipurpose award-winning balm is designed to lock in hydration with the world’s best lanolin, a natural emollient known to hold 200 per cent of its weight in moisture.
The product, which is loved by celebrities and beauty gurus alike, isn’t just for lips. Apply it to small cuts, chapped cheeks, dry nasal passages and cracked heels. I love applying this a small amount on my cuticles, to give my dry hands and two-week-old manicures a healthy-looking recharge. I also just started applying Superbalm on the dry cracks of my heels for an instant healthy look at feel.
Compared to traditional lip balms, this small tube does come with a steep price of $23. But believe me, a small dollop goes a long way with this ultra-rich formula — I’ve been using the same tube for nearly a year now. Right now, during Sephora’s National Lipstick Day Celebration, you can score this coveted balm on discount for 25 per cent off — just $17!
From now through Friday, Sephora is giving shoppers a chance to find the perfect shade by offering 25 per cent off select lipsticks, lipglosses and nourishing lip products from cult-favourite brands.
Aside from stocking up Lanolips’ Multipurpose Superbalm, the Sephora Lipstick Day sale is a great time to save on iconic lippies by BECCA Cosmetics, MAKE UP FOR EVER, Tarte, MILK Makeup, Kiehl’s, BITE Beauty, SEPHORA COLLECTION and more.
