Lana Condor Is the New Face of Neutrogena, and She Is So Excited
You might think isolating in the Seattle during a pandemic isn’t the typical setting for kicking off a new role as the face of a major beauty brand — and you’d be right, it isn’t — but Lana Condor is definitely making the most of it. The actor took the time to video-chat with Allure from her Pacific Northwest home and tell us all about how excited she is to be Neutrogena‘s latest brand ambassador — a sentiment she shared with her 10 million Instagram followers on Wednesday morning.
“I am BEYOND thrilled to finally announce I am the newest face and brand ambassador for @neutrogena!!!” she wrote in a caption. “I am thrilled to partner with Neutrogena 😍😭. I’ve waited so long to tell you all the news and I couldn’t be more excited to finally share. I have been a true fan of the brand for as long as I’ve known about skincare and it’s truly an honor to be able to work with them! Here we go!”
Her excitement was just as apparent over Zoom, where Condor told us her love of Neutrogena started long before she could even imagine she’d be calling herself an ambassador. The actor says she was first introduced to the brand as a kid, when her mother always kept Neutrogena sunscreen onhand.
And it appears that hasn’t changed. When we asked her what her favorite sunscreen is nowadays, she literally ran upstairs to get it, bringing back Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Mist Sunscreen SPF 55.
“This is a go-to for me right now. I tell my friends, ‘You should use this. It will fix all your sunscreen problems. Here it is!'” Condor tells Allure. “It’s so easy, and I don’t have to touch my face. It doesn’t really have much of a scent, which is good because if you’re going to be reapplying all day long, I don’t want to be smelling the same thing all the time.”
In addition to sunscreen, her relationship with Neutrogena wipes goes way back, too. Before she was an actor, Condor was a dedicated dancer who always removed her stage makeup with the brand’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes.
Among Condor’s latest favorites: Neutrogena Bright Boost Illuminating + Brightening Serum. Its turmeric works alongside a form of glucosamine that promotes exfoliation and, thus, some serious radiance. She even leaned in super close toward the camera so we could see just how glowy — but not sparkly — it leaves her skin.
She’s also a big fan of the products in the new Neutrogena Healthy Scalp collection of shampoos and conditioners: Hydro Boost, Clarify & Shine, Gentle & Soft, and Soothe & Calm. Once again, she leaned in, this time so we could get a good look at how flake-free her scalp is. (Very!)
