Former Towie star James Argent enjoyed the culinary delights of a London takeaway after recently celebrating an impressive weight loss following his gastric band surgery earlier this year
James Argent still enjoys a delicious treat now and again despite embracing a healthy new lifestyle.
The former Towie star took to social media on Wednesday to share a few snaps from a recent trip to a Chinese restaurant.
The 33-year-old star – who has lost a whopping 9.5 stone on his recent weight loss journey – posted a couple of pictures of himself at Chan’s restaurant in East Ham, London.
Looking slim and healthy outside the Chinese restaurant in one of the images, the reality TV star posed with a takeaway box from the venue for his 801,000 followers online.
In a follow up post, the Essex native revealed his reasons for calling into the London restaurant earlier this week.
Sharing a snap of himself with BBC presenter Bobby Seagull, James wrote: “Great to meet up with the legendary mathematician @bobby_seagull.”
On the table shared by the stars, the reality TV star appears to be enjoying a fizzy soft drink, as The Answer Trap presenter has a bottle of beer by the side of his meal.
The star’s culinary experience in London comes just weeks after he proudly showed off his 9.5 stone weight loss on holiday.
James tipped the scales at 27 stone prior to his life-saving gastric sleeve surgery earlier this year.
Enjoying the sun in Marbella earlier this month, the slimmed down star beamed for the camera with a new-found confidence as he relaxed on holiday.
The former Towie regular was clearly enjoying himself as he shared a series of snaps with his followers on Instagram.
Speaking on Steph’s Packed Lunch in June, James reflected on his journey and his incredible weight loss over recent months.
“It felt horrible, I was always extremely uncomfortable, I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror,” the star said of his old body on the Channel 4 show.
“It felt depressing and it just wasn’t me. Now I’m starting to feel like myself again and I’m excited about what the future is going to bring.”
The star – who once dated former co-star Gemma Collins – added: “It was scary being 27 stone… It was serious, doctors were telling me how dangerous it was… I knew it was something I had to address pretty quickly.”
Prior to his surgery, James admitting losing 10 stone was his goal, but the fitness-loving star now wants to shed 15 stone from his previous weight total.
It’s been reported that the TV personality wants to lose at least a stone every month between now and the end of the year.
The star has even enlisted the help of his former TOWIE buddy, Mark Wright.
A source told The Sun : ‘It’s a lot but he’s determined to do it because he is feeling so much healthier following his operation. He’s been getting a lot of support from Mark.’
The insider also claimed the star has been shedding the pounds quicker than he initially anticipated.
“James has never felt better in his life and the weight has dropped off far more quickly than he ever expected,” they added when talking to the publication.
“It’s made him realise he can lose even more weight so he plans to just go for it.”
