Des Moines’ Dogpatch Urban Gardens to sell salad dressing at Hy-Vee

After six growing seasons, a Des Moines urban farm known for its salad greens is putting products on the shelf at Hy-Vee stores across the Midwest.

Jenny Quiner, owner of Dogpatch Urban Gardens, 5085 Meredith Drive, has expanded the farm’s offerings to include salad dressings designed to complement its popular seasonal lettuces. The vinaigrettes come in three flavors and are now available at more than 100 Hy-Vee stores in eight states.

“They are all vinaigrettes, and they are all made with the idea of keeping salads healthy,” she said. “Here at the farm we are known for our greens, and so the creation of these products was kind of a natural progression for our business.”

Dogpatch Urban Gardens salad dressings are available now in the salad dressing section in Hy-Vee stores.

The dressings come in three varieties — lemon garlic, maple ginger, and balsamic — and are made with avocado oil. Marketed as clean and simple, the dressings are a healthy alternative to preservative- or sugar-filled dressings often found on supermarket shelves, Quiner said.

Pricing per 12-ounce bottle ranges from $5.49 to $6.99, depending on the Hy-Vee location.
