Bradford Ecumenical Home employees hold Turkey Trot | Bradford

Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. employees participated in their own Turkey Trot walk/run on Saturday morning on St Francis and Lorana Avenue near Bradford Ecumenical Home and Chapel Ridge.

According to Jolene Schuessler, wellness coordinator, “With over 20 employees participating, it was a safe way to promote a healthy lifestyle while continuing our social distancing, as we have been encouraging throughout the coronavirus pandemic. Although family members and community partners were not invited to join, our staff appreciate the opportunity to be with their fellow employees while residents cheered them on.”

Lisa Johnson, CEO, talked about another way the Ecumenical Home is celebrating the holiday.

“This holiday season, we have so much to be thankful for,” Johnson shared. “Bradford Ecumenical Home, Inc. has asked residents, employees, family members and friends to fill our a feather to stuff on a giant, paper turkey on display at both our nursing home and personal care home. The feathers are for people to share ‘what they are most thankful for…’

“Responses like ‘family, friends, good health and safe, warm housing’ rank the top of the responses. Other responses like, ‘chocolate, country music, sprinkles on ice cream’ all make us smile. We pause to remember how fortunate we are to be part of a wonderful organization in a great community. Happy Thanksgiving!” she said.
