$5 Million BlueCross Healthy Place Opens in Highland Park

BlueCross Healthy Place celebrated its opening today in Highland Park with a ribbon cut. The five million dollar project includes a pavilion, walking track and sports courts, playgrounds, and much more. This project was completed in partnership with Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy and Chattanooga Preparatory Schools.

The space will be open to schools and the Highland Park community starting today. Many local officials attended the ribbon cutting including Chattanooga Mayor, Tim Kelly.

Chelsea Johnson | Director of Community Relations – BlueCross BlueShield TN says, “We’re really excited to finally open this project, it’s been about two years in the works since we made the announcement that we would be bringing a BlueCross Healthy Place to Highland Park. It’s the first of its kind in turns of a partnership with BlueCross and with a school, so in fact two schools. This has been a great resource for the students to be able to utilize during the school day and then a place for the community to come together in the evenings.”
