4 Texans players who must be in the game plan

The Indianapolis Colts (7-4) hit the road after a disappointing loss to Tennessee to take on the Houston Texans (4-7) at NRG Stadium in Week 13.

While the Texans have had a lackluster 2020 season, you can never discount a division rival.

The team has not seen much success this season, but this group is able to put up points. Without Bill O’Brien running the show, this offense has the ability to explode. If the Colts aren’t careful, they could suffer another loss that would put their playoff future in jeopardy.

Here are four Texans the Colts must game plan for in Week 13:

QB Deshaun Watson

Watson has been balling out this season, putting up some of his best numbers even without DeAndre Hopkins. With 3,201 passing yards and 24 touchdowns on the year, Watson has been the Texans’ rock as they are seemingly entering a rebuild. The loss of Will Fuller to a PED suspension really hurts this Houston offense. Watson will have to find another favorite target on Sunday against Indy.

DE J.J. Watt

In his 10th season, Watt still is a dominant defensive star in this league. With health being a concern in recent years, he has shown that when healthy, he can still be a game-changer on the defensive side of the ball. Having Anthony Castonzo out will be a huge detriment to the Colts in stopping Watt as he hopes to build on his four sacks in 2020.

WR Brandin Cooks

With Will Fuller being suspended for PED use, Cooks will likely step up as Houston’s No. 1 receiving threat. With 719 yards and three touchdowns on the season, he has shown he has the ability to beat anyone down the field. Look for Kenny Moore to be placed on Cooks to try and match his speed and big-play ability.

LB Zach Cunningham

Cunningham has been one of the most consistent linebackers across the league for the past few years. He leads the Texans with tackles, totaling 110 thus far, second in the NFL. If the Colts want to establish the run against one of the worst-ranked run defenses, being able to block to the second level will be the key.
