Mike Greenberg Reacts To Brutal Jets News

It is not a good day to be a fan of the New York Jets, and Mike Greenberg knows it.

Thursday played out like a bad movie you just can’t and won’t stop watching. It all began during the Jets’ practice when reports came out saying several key players, including defensive tackle Carl Lawson, left because of injuries. The reports got worse when top insiders broke the news that Lawson and defensive back Zane Lewis will miss the entirety of the 2021 season with injuries.

The Jets appear to be cursed. Even Jets’ superfan Mike Greenberg is speechless. The longtime ESPN employee had a couple depressing reactions to Thursday’s unfortunate news out of the Big Apple.

It’s hard to imagine this day going any worse for the New York Jets. At least rookie quarterback Zach Wilson is healthy (knock on wood).

This preseason is the most optimistic Jets fans have been in some time. Wilson has looked like everything New York was hoping for so far. And his surrounding cast is actually shaping up well. The real mystery is on the defensive side of the ball.

Lawson was the Jets’ most important defensive player before going down with a season-ending injury on Thursday. Robert Saleh and his staff will have to adjust, but it’s going to be difficult to replace a player like Lawson.

Let’s hope this is the end of the Jets’ horrendous injury luck.
