In outlining viewpoints, facts still matter (Letters)

Do facts matter?

It has been a long time since we held political leaders to factual information.

I just wonder why the Republican perpetuates this problem by publishing letters and articles that also grossly misrepresent facts.

The letter writer who blames climate change as the reason our borders are being overran, says the U.S. has surpassed China as the largest polluter, “Why is immigration problem for Biden,” April 29, page C8.

My research says China is still the worst by almost 2-1 over the U.S.

Some articles I read include information that say our rate is declining, China is increasing. That sounds hopeful, but I am not saying it is a fact.

The fact is China still is far and away the worst.

The writer further states that immigrants overrunning our borders are “strong, healthy, needed, etc.,” and because we are the largest polluter we are obligated to them.

Facts please to support these claims?

President Joe Biden says the attack on the capitol “was the worst attack on democracy since the Civil war.”

I am not sure this is a “fact.”

We all can agree crimes, including felonies happened, and sadly people got killed, the same with riots in U.S. cities, those are facts.

Perhaps it would be helpful for all to “just stick to the facts Ma’am”  not the hyperbole or lies that you see fit to share with your readers.
