Thomas Bryant practices for first time with Wizards since reported coronavirus bout
The Wizards welcomed Thomas Bryant back on Friday, as the big man practiced with the team in Orlando for the first time since recovering from a reported bout with coronavirus.
Bryant, 22, did not fly with the team on July 7 to enter the bubble at Disney World. He arrived on July 15 and then had to wait another 36 hours in quarantine.
But on Friday, he was back and the Wizards were happy to have him.
“It was dope, just to see him out there,” Troy Brown Jr. said. “Everybody goes through things. Having him out there was actually really good for all of us.”

Head coach Scott Brooks said Bryant wasn’t a full participant in practice, that he was held out of some drills. Bryant has to catch up with the other players after taking time off to get healthy.
“His conditioning is a little behind, but he should be able to make it up. He’s a competitive athlete,” Brooks said.
The Wizards have to avoid specifics when it comes to anything involving the coronavirus. They won’t officially comment on Bryant’s status, or that of Gary Payton II who also reportedly tested positive.
It is a sensitive subject to discuss in general and the team is handling it delicately in their interviews.
“I think it’s good for us to know that our brother is okay,” Shabazz Napier said. “Whenever you can have somebody that you care about on your side and not somewhere they aren’t supposed to be, it’s always a great feeling.”
